The representatives of Belarusian cities will gather on April 15-16, 2020 in Hrodna at the 4th National Conference of the Covenant of Mayors Initiative in Belarus. Currently it includes 50 Belarusian municipalities and more than 9 900 cities in Europe.
The conference will demonstrate innovative experiences of climate change mitigation and adaptation at municipal level and provide opportunities for networking. The invited participants are Mayors and Deputy Mayors of the cities and districts - signatories to the Covenant of Mayors; governmental authorities, expert community, civil society organizations, potential donors and other stakeholders.
The conference will be focused on the following topics:
- Energy efficiency in residential and municipal buildings;
- Adaptation to climate change and management of emergency situations;
- Participatory urban planning;
- Cooperation between municipalities;
- Financial instruments for municipal mitigation and adaptation.
The conference agenda includes panel discussions and interactive experience exchange, visits to demonstration sites on energy efficiency and historical places of Hrodna city on the Neman river.
The organizers of the event are IPO "Ecopartnership", Hrodna City Municipality, Department for Energy Efficiency of the State Committee for Standardization of the Republic of Belarus.
